As co-editor with @TimDierks of IETF TLS 1.0 standard, I’m pleased by the attention being paid this year to TLS at #RealWorldCrypto.
There were many compromises necessary to make TLS a standard—none of us back then thought it would take 17 years to deprecate SSL 3.0 usage.
