For those wanting a peek under the hood, here are some VERY preliminary details. There is a lot of good feedback going on, so things change!
First, I created posted transaction on the bitcoin testnet that you can see here: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc-testnet/tx/f8cdaff3ebd9e862ed5885f8975489090595abe1470397f79780ead1c7528107/
From that long txid we know a few things: that the transaction was signed by a public key, the time it was confirmed, and an op_return.
The op_return is a 69 character value that points to a file in my github https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ChristopherA/self/master/ddo.jsonld (ideally should be decentralized like IPFS)
That link is a pointer to my optional DDO (DID Data Object) which I can use to offer other information I’m willing to share about my DID.
Now the data in my DDO should be a signed W3C verifiable claim, but that is a work-in-progress. But the commit is signed by my PGP key.
Here you can see that my DDO commit was signed by my PGP key, and it is shown in GitHub with a verified marker: https://github.com/ChristopherA/self/commit/8a28564eb760ba2c463756cde61f302823eb7880
One thing else my DID testnet transaction gives us is the address that I send my bitcoin to: mvZ3MyLgsvYr87GGSbsPBWEDduLRptfzEU
