Both are strong, but make different security tradeoffs. Trezor uses more inspectable software on hardware that is not rated for crypto. Ledger uses hardware chips that are cryptographically designed for crypto, but due to NDA is less inspectable. Fortunately seeds are compatible.

Actually other way around, we care tremendously about privacy, fungibility, and censorship resistance but it is hard to define it as requirement. ANY signature is challenges substitutability, even entirely off-chain. It is the “Denver Wedding Cake Problem” of censorship.

I think the iPhone approach is the best. Biometric fingerprinting info is not passed to network. Instead, the device attests that the biometric it sees now is what was seen before. This doesn’t address many use cases, but there are no easy answers for those.

Nothing great in my opinion. A possible topic for a future #RebootingWebOfTrust. Key thing is biometrics should not be used as an identifier—only should be used as one of many authentication factors, and should ideally never leave the authentication device (i.e. iPhone).
