I agree for single sig wallets. But most Gordian apps use descriptor wallets for only one of the keys in a multisig. This means no single point-of-failure using bitcoin-core, but we can leverage core for watching, transaction creation, bug fixes and new features like taproot.

Did you know that the state of California recently released digital COVID-19 vaccination records using QR codes? [1/10] https://cdt.ca.gov/news/california-launches-new-digital-tool-giving-residents-convenient-access-to-their-covid-19-vaccine-record/
Thu Jun 24 13:53:09 +0000 2021
The full answer is more complex than that. California is suggesting that you save your vaccine QRs to your camera roll, which isn’t entirely insecure, but which also has usability problems because photos can be shared way too easily & hard to find the correct QR you need. [3/10]
Thu Jun 24 13:53:10 +0000 2021
But, is it safe? As the saying goes: we’ve got an app for that. The Gordian QR Tool from @BlockchainComns! [2/10] https://www.blockchaincommons.com/projects/Releasing-QRTool/
Thu Jun 24 13:53:10 +0000 2021
The security of Gordian QR Tool extends to ensuring that your QR codes haven’t been changed. It uses LifeHash to create unique, but evocative full-color graphics of each QR, allowing you to recognize them at a glance. [6/10] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cu0K__KLxKo&t
Thu Jun 24 13:53:11 +0000 2021
It’s also good for a lot of other kinds of QRs, such as travel passes, crypto-seeds, crypto-keys, and 2FA-seeds. (Ever had to reset all of your 2FAs after you lost a phone? It’s a pain. QR Tool would allow you to restore directly from saved 2FA QRs) [5/10]
Thu Jun 24 13:53:11 +0000 2021
So we’ve created Gordian QR Tool, an iPhone & Mac app built as a secure vault for QR codes. It leverages your iPhone’s secure enclave, two-factor authentication, and biometrics to ensure that no one but you can access this personal information. [4/10] https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gordian-qr-tool/id1506851070
Thu Jun 24 13:53:11 +0000 2021
Overall, the QR Tool is an example of the core principles of Blockchain Commons’ Gordian architecture: focused on independence, privacy, resilience, and openness. [8/10] https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Gordian#gordian-principles
Thu Jun 24 13:53:12 +0000 2021
Finally, Gordian QR Tool address some problems of usability by automatically categorizing many known kinds of QRs, and allows you to categorize the rest. It supports sorting your QRs by a variety of means. You can find the specific QR you need in seconds. [7/10]
