Spent morning sleeping late after iPhoneDevCamp – had lunch with my cousin Brahm, who was in transit briefly at SFO after flying from Korea
Urgh. Not a single downloaded app will run on my iPhone other then apple’s built in. Upgraded to 2.0.1, no change. Factory reset time again.
Heading to Cortes Island, BC, Canada. Synced my music and apps to iPhone before leaving but now iPhone crapper out.
iPhone’s Safari still working but all 3rd party apps failing. Tried reboot, no. Tried reset but lost all music - drats!
Warning to all, if you use the iPhone’s Setting’s Reset it says it will not erase your data. My contacts are still there but all music gone.

I have an iPod Touch, which I largely use for testing. It too can’t run any third party apps, and TV shows on it fails. I suspect FairPlay.

Gyazickr on iPhone doesn’t deal with twitter post length very well either. It posts to twitter via safari, Flickup uses Twitteriffic.

Gyazickr iPhone App only posts 320 x 240 pictures, lost geolocation info (see http://tinyurl.com/5nhb68 ). Sorry, removing from phone.
Flickup uploads 1024 x 768, much better then then Gyazickr. But like Gyazickr, appears to loose geolocation info on upload.
Only thing Gyazickr did right was caption. Flickup did a better caption. Both failed to deal with limited length of twitter posts.
Arrived Channel Rock on Cortes Island, BC, after boating in my luggage. Took a while to get wifi up - very remote here.

AirMe iPhone App posts only new photos to Flickr (i.e not from photo roll), only supports is 640 x 480: http://tinyurl.com/5c6vb5
AirMe also appears to lose the geoloc info in the photo, but does put a loc name in caption – in this case, the closest is Campbell River.
So far disappointed with the iPhone Flickr upload apps. All loose geodata in the photo itself, and none upload the full sized photo.

Just woke to the threnody of wolves in the hills above Channel Rock on Cortes island, BC.
First time I’ve heard the mournful song of wolves. It was more like a singing chorus then the more random howling that i had imagined.
More wolf song last night, and several of the residents of some of the outbuildings last night heard the pitter-patter of padded feet.
Wonderful day of conversation, walking the rocks at low tide, drumming, and great food at Channel Rock, Cortes Island.
Slow, pleasant, warm day on Channel Rock. The honey bees are diligently working and I am not.
Beautiful seaplane trip from Cortes Island to Renton (near Seattle). 1300 ft up down the Puget Sound with great visibility. Lots of photos.
A little too tight a connection from the Boeing Airport where the seaplanes land to SEA Seatac Airport, but made it. On way back to OAK.
Arrived OAK airport, heading home. Gotta clean up before M gets back from her vacation Tuesday.
First time I’ve traveled with my hang drum. No trouble with travelling with it as a carry on - the checkers are curious but not suspiscious

Been doing a massive consolidation and backup of all my hard drives onto a single system, the making an office copy. Took almost two days.
While my drives were being backed up, I did some spring cleaning on my home office (a bit late, I know) Still a lot to do but much progress.
My desktop Mac is finally back up and running with a fresh install, and all backups complete. Performance is much perkier.
Had a nice birthday party last Saturday (early, because the real date is in middle of labor day weekend), played games with friends all day.
Sunday took the day off — rested, read some books, ate some leftover birthday cake, watch some TiVo. A good relaxing day.

My rule of thumb on m4v vs mp4 is is it primarily a video with a single audio stream, then mp4, but if it anything else, m4a.
Heading off to the ConQuest game convention in Santa Clara. Hope to LARP and play some good stategic board games.
Played in a LARP a gentleman mage from England visiting New Amsterdam still held by the Dutch in the Early 1800s. Good imaginative game.
